Mountains Aflame - Saturday 18th June

This night is all about showing off the mountains of the area. Each village in the area sets bonfires along the ridge and as dusk is coming they are all lit. There is a free guided walk up the mountain, taking approx. 3.5 hours, to Harschbichl(the top station on the Kitzbuehler Horn). At Harschbichl there is music and entertainment for the evening. An excellent night and the gondola runs into the night so that everyone can get down the mountain again. The party will then continue in town into the early hours of the morning.

Jaggas’n Town Festival - Saturday 9th July

This is the festival for summer in St Johann. It starts at 2.30pm where you have a chance to walk around the town enjoying traditional food and drink, and then continues on into the evening when the party begins. The festival is put on by all the associations and clubs from St Johann and the surrounding areas and is to raise money for the clubs. The evening is a full on party and St Johann really comes alive with a mix of traditional bands and a few party bands playing in different locations in the village. Most people party though the night until the very early hours the next morning.

Oberndorf Village Fair - Saturday 16th July

Oberndorf is situated a 5 minute taxi ride from St Johann and hold their own festival very similar to Jaggas’n It still has all the same set up as Jaggas’n but due to Oberndorf being smaller it only has one main area where the entertainment is. They have different bands playing throughout the evening in a marquee and as with all festivals in the area goes until the early hours of the morning.

Lederhosen Festival - Friday 22nd July

Held in the main square of St Johann this is a festival all about Lederhosen (traditional Tirolean Leather pants), and it is a chance for all the locals to show off their best traditional attire. It is really just another excuse to party mixed with some old Tirolean traditions which includes beer mug lifting and leg wrestling. There is a live band which plays a mix of traditional Tirolean music and some better known English songs. There are food and drinks stalls set up all over the square and a prize is awarded for the best Lederhosen.

20th Kirchdorf Summer Festival - Saturday 6th August

Kirchdorf is situated approx a 7 minute taxi ride from St Johann and also hold their own festival. There is a parade through the town and then they have food and drink stalls set up all over the town along with a variety of entertainment to suit everyone’s needs. They have traditional bands, party bands and they even have a disco tent. As with all the other festivals it is a huge night and goes into the early hours of the following morning.

24th Dumpling Festival - Saturday 24th September

You would never think that having a festival about dumplings could be so popular, but this is one of the biggest. The festival features the worlds longest dumpling table, 300 metres, and has 22 different types of dumplings. There are 17 innkeepers from the area of St Johann and they all make the dumplings for everyone to sample. Admission is 2.50 and it starts at 1.00pm. with the parade of the innkeepers. The party then continues on through the afternoon into the evening.
