St Johann is a very popular resort in Austria due to the mainly north facing slopes, the location of the ski area to the town, and the vibrant atmosphere both on the mountain when skiing, and in town with a great après ski atmosphere.
The skiing and snowboarding is best suited to beginners and intermediate, but with the great location of St Johann to other resorts advanced skiing and snowboarding is only a short ride away.
St Johann is located close to several airports which means the transfer time once you arrive is not too long. Salzburg is the closest being only 1 hour away, Innsbruck is a little further taking 1.5 hours and Munich is the furthest being 2 hours away.

Accomodation Packages

We have a variety of accommodation available to suit all requirements. They are all located within a 6 minute walk of the main Gondola station and a 5 minute walk of the hire shops and ski school. The pension accommodation is very clean, but also very basic. The hotels are also very clean, have cable TV, and most are traditional Tirolean style.

All accommodation includes breakfast and private facilities. Price will depend upon location as some are closer to the ski area than others. Please note that a twin in Austria is a double bed with separate mattresses and separate bed linen.

Other Winter Activities
Hot Air Ballooning
Experience the feeling of floating across the sky with only the sound of the breeze going by. You will see the most spectacular scenery as you rise to heights of up to 2500 metres, and enjoy the many sights that you will only truly appreciate seeing from above.

Ice Skating
There is an Ice Skating rink located at the swimming pool area which is open daily. It is an excellent way to enjoy the outdoors when you want a change form skiing or snowboarding. The rink is outdoors and well lit when open in the evenings.
Price: €6.40 including entrance and skates

Night Skiing
Monday, Wednesday and Friday the Hochfeld Ski Run is lit up and the chair lift opened from 7.00pm to 9.00pm for people who want to experience how it feels to ski at night.
Price: €7.00 for chair lift (not included with normal Schneeuwinkl pass, this is only for day skiing)

Snow Tubing
Experience the amazing feeling of going down the slope on a rubber ring. You are taken up on a drag lift, and then released when you reach the top. It is an exciting ride down the slope and you do not have to do anything. It is not extremely steep but still a great fun ride as you are at ground level.
Price: €22.00 including transport (1 hour at the run and you can go down as many times as you like)

Swimming Pool
This is an excellent way to relax after a day on the slopes. The pool is open daily until 9.00pm and has sauna and spa facilities. There is both an indoor and outdoor pool and there is no better feeling than sitting in the outdoor pool when the snow is falling. After a day on the slopes when you are a little muscle sore a swim is the best way to get the tiredness out of your body.

Tandem Paragliding
Experience the freedom of flying. The flight starts at 1700 metres with an unforgettable view of the Tirol area. Enjoy a quiet glide through the air, or on request the pilot will give you an acrobatic experience you will never forget. You can also ask the pilot if you can steer for part of the journey yourself. This is an excellent activity for everyone as it can be pure adrenalin rush, or simply a gentle glide.

For a further €15.00 you can also get a roll of film with 12 photos taken with the mountains and St Johann in the background whilst you are paragliding.

Tobogganing
There is a great toboggan run in St Johann that is accessed from the Hirschberg lift. It is a great night out to go up to the beginning of the run, have some dinner and a few Schnapps to warm you up, and then when you are ready toboggan down the mountain.
